Using Whisper® filtration technology, the ReptoFilter® provides quality three-stage filtration, removing debris, discoloration, odors and ammonia from terrariums with up to 55 gallons of water. Filters at 125 gallons per hour. Uses large ReptoFilter cartridges.

The design allows for operation in shallow-water environments, making it ideal for creating waterfalls. A top lid keeps reptiles out of the filter chamber while providing easy access for replacing filter cartridges.
ReptoFilter® 125GPH Reptile Terrarium Filter is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is a Miracle!! We have had our turtle for almost 20 years and the ReptoFilter has been a blessing that we could have never imagined. I honestly bought it because it was cheaper than replacing the filter system I've used for years (and have had to replace multiple times). When we first turned it on we had to look to make sure it was even working! It is SO QUIET and still after a few months remains just as quiet. It cleans the water like nothing ever has. I still can't believe it. ReptoFilter, where have you been all my (turtle's) life? LOL

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It just stopped working after less than a week! I have purchased this filter for my small turtle and today it just stopped running. It is as if it is not even plugged in at all. I don't know what to do. I just purchased this a week ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous Filter! Easy to clean and really keeps the water clean. Beautiful design. I keep a Phillips screwdriver handy and remove the bottom pump cover each time I clean. (Be very careful the screws don't go down the drain. A magnet works for retrieving them) An old toothbrush is the only other tool needed. The pump cover snaps off easily to remove any debris that might get in. It takes me 5 minutes to clean and add a new filter. The filter lasts at least a month. The best aquatic turtle filter I have used.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap, easy to use, not good for filtering It's cheap, easy to use/set up, but it's not very good. I've bought multiple of these filters in the last 5 years. Each one continues to die after a couple years. The suction cups aren't enough to hold the weight of the filter, so you have to figure out a better way to get it to stay where you need to. The filter cartridges need to be changed more frequently than in any other filter I've used, but the water quality in my tank is awful despite this. The filter itself isn't very easy to clean. It needs to be a little easier to take apart and clean out the motor if need be. Because the motor will give you trouble at some point, trust me. Overall, it's just not a good filter for turtles.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stopped working after about 2 months I purchased my ReptoFilter from my local PetSmart. The filter worked great for about a month and a half with regular filter changes. But after the around the 2 month I changed the filter and the pump never came back on. I have made every attempt to get it started again without success. This is now my 5th purchase of different types of filters to use for my Turtle tank. I was told that this one was made just for reptiles and tanks of this nature and it would last. I do not want to have to purchase a new filter every 2 to 3 months. Please assist or instruct me on how to repair and keep my filter running successfully. Thanks

Rated 4 out of 5 by from partial troubles The filter is great and works wonders. Well did. The last few times I have changed the filter it has still been spitting out murky water and I have no clue how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great filter aside from the suction cups We've had this filter for about 3 years and it works well aside from the fact that the suction cups never stay stuck --- they always slide down. And, finally one came loose and went missing. We cleaned the tank and can't find it anywhere. Now the filter keeps falling in and the tank went murky. I need another suction cup or another filter and I'm just not happy that a "perfectly good" filter itself is useless. I'd give it 5 stars if I had a resolution to the sliding (and now missing) suction cups.

Repto Filter replacement filter cartridges do not include the "sponge" that is in the filter....Are replacement cartridges available?  It is very difficult to clean, I would like to order several, along with the filter cartridges  (large 125 filter)

Asked by: Alta
We no longer product the bio foam, we make bio scrubbers for this filter, instead. Currently they are not sold separately. This should change soon. BREX

My Moter is acting up a lot. I clean it, but still. Should I buy another Moter? Can i from you guys? My store doesn't sell it separately.

Asked by: Chili
Remove the impeller from the motor and clean it with distilled white vinegar. Swab out the motor with a q tip soaked in vinegar as well. Also, make sure the water level in the tank is high enough to cover the entire bottom half of the motor by a few inches. BREX

I just sent a message about my filter & Moter. But it takes 2 medium charcoal filters, nor large ones. So maybe it's another one. It has a large housing that fits inn the corner.

Sounds like you have the Decorative Reptofilter or possibly the Viquarium. http://www.tetra-fish.com/Fauna/Products/reptile-equipment/decorative-reptofilter-turtle-basking-area.aspx or http://www.tetra-fish.com/Fauna/Products/reptile-equipment/viquarium-kit.aspx. BREX

How do we dispose of the filter bags? I dont feel okay just throwing this thing away. Are they biodegradable? If not, do you have any that are biodegradable?

Asked by: Budu
Basically, you toss them in the trash. Unfortunately, no, we do not have any made from biodegradable materials at this time. BREX

I have a small red ear slider turtle in a 10 gallon tank , half full of water. Can I use my whisper filter 1-3 gallon ?

Asked by: Bareboo
Yes, you could use that, but it will be overworked. Even half full, your tank has at least 5 gallons of water. It would do as a supplemental filter or temporary one until you can get the proper sized filter for the tank, the ReptoFilter 90 GPH. BREX

I have a turtle that requires enough water for him to swim around in. How deep can the filter be submerged?

Asked by: budu14
Your turtle, depending on the species, requires 6" to 12", minimum. This filter has a maximum water level of 6" marked on it, but you can have the water level to the top edge. If you want deeper water, build a platform from flat rock such as slate. BREX

I've used these filters for years with my red-eared slider. I got a new one a month or so ago, and it does not work. I noticed that there was no little bag of charcoal and no little sponge. Is this how it's supposed to be?

Asked by: folksinger
Thank you for purchasing this product! No, it should always come with it's first cartridge, and the bio foam. You may always reach out to us more directly via 1-800-526-0650. I will contact you shortly though, by email. BREX
