Just purchased statuary pump 140 to replace an old one for a medium fiberglass waterfall to pump thru 1/2" tube up 2' where water spills down.  Wondered why your chart show less GPH the higher it goes? Also are newer pumps smaller than in 1975?

Asked by: Rolliepaint
Because it will produce less water at a higher head. So at 3 feet, the pump will only move 100 gph. At 5.5 feet, there will be no flow at all. Size of the pump varies due to gph, manufacturer, design, etc. BREX

We used to need a clamp on the tube to slow the flow a bit but it appears with our new pump from you that the flow is adjustable with a switch?  I'm guessing modern-day pumps are more compact now? It's half the physical size of the one we're replacing.

It depends on the gph of the pump as well. There are different designs of pumps on the market, some have flow regulators already installed, some require ball valves. BREX

How do I keep silt/leaves from clogging my pump. I have a course screen above the fountain with about 1/2" openings.  Do you have a filter to prevent this or another remedy? Thanks, nhmort

Asked by: nhmort
Hi nhmort, If you are using it in a fountain, we may not have a small enough prefilter to fit in the fountain with the pump. We do offer the PPS2, if the fountain is large, and you have a pump of at least the 140 gph size. Otherwise, you can raise the pump up off the bottom by a couple of inches, or place it in a small mesh/plastic container with filter floss surrounding it. BREX
