Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Results after first dosing Extreme high temps caused runaway Algae growth. Green water was only visible item in pond. Added this product as per directions and within hours it became amazingly clear. After a couple days, in the early morning and evening (cooler periods), the pond was amazingly clear and my many fish seemed very happy. I know I was. Here is a video of the pond after using this product:

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fish Killer First used this several months ago - all my fish died. Neighborhood was sprayed for mosquitoes the night before and thought this was the problem. I used again last night - again all the fish were floating this morning. I have a 150 gal pond - I used 2 teaspoons of algae control - less than the directions say. Pond has a fountain and also a waterfall so the water is aerated.

Is this safe to use with water turtles?

Asked by: Chad319
No. Turtles require weekly 50% water changes. Lighting should be on about 8-10 hours, and they should not be overfed. Follow these basic care requirements and you can easily control the algae. BREX

Thank you for asking, Olyter. A 1 liter bottle will treat 12,000 gallons. On top of that you'll need to use 250 ml to treat the remaining 3,000 gallons.

Can I use tetra algae remover and water clear together

Asked by: pkbroch
No, never mix two chemicals simultaneously because you will usually get a negative reaction. We would recommend the Water Clarifier first, and do two doses, about 48-72 hours apart. BREX

The directions say three total doses but what is the maintenance schedule after that per week or per month thank you

Asked by: Mike2005
We don't really make a maintenance recommendation as partial water changes are the norm for keeping algae at bay. This product is more for the exception, however, some customers recommend once a month use for maintenance. BREX

I have a green algae problem in my Tilapia purge tank. There are no fish in the tank at present. Once added how long does it take the product to break down and be safe for fish intended to be consumed? Thx

Asked by: EWB_Tucson
We have not tested this product on fish intended for human consumption. The product will break down in the water in approximately 3 days. Leave the carbon out for about 4-6 hours, then put it back in, run all filters constantly and keep an eye on media. It should be safe to stock fish after 4 days. Add TetraSafe Plus at the same time as the fish to boost the biological filter. BREX

Who sells Tetra Pond Algae control in canada.

Asked by: Joecat
Because of Canadian laws, there may not be anyone carrying it in Canada. It is not allowed to cross the border is my understanding. Two of our main retailers in Canada are Big Al's Pets and Petsmart, you might check with them. BREX
