Rated 2 out of 5 by from You will only get one year out of this air pump before you have to replace parts that are not covered under there warrenty. After one year of service this pump failed. I expected more than that out of this pump!! Thank God I had a back up air pump to keep my fish alive until I can get this one fixed.

What airline size (ID) do I need for the AP150 and are there multiple outlets?

Asked by: Bosentsng
The 150 has only one outlet, and it takes the standard size airline tubing and that would be 1/8" ID. BREX

What's the noise level in terms of db (decibels) on AP150? Will it be quiet to put it in a bedroom?

Asked by: Tetra12
It depends on a lot of factors, as the pump armature swings through a larger or smaller arc based on back pressure (depends on model of pump used, depth of air outlet, restriction of airline and ornaments/air stone, and some other variables, call them all “back pressure”). This armature swing influences the noise the pump makes as well as the overall vibration. When used properly, the decibel rating (dBA) is in the upper 30’s, but depends again on the overall strength of the pump (which model is being used) and the back pressure factors mentioned before. Using a flow control, you can change the back pressure, and thus the noise. Upper 30’s is remarkably quiet. Therefore, we do not give out an exact ranger per air pump because there are too many varying factors, however, if installed properly, the rating should be in the upper 30's. BREX

How many litres per minute will the 300 produce? Max...

Asked by: Thomas Fairfull
Thank you for your interest in this product! With both ports teed, that would be 4.6 l/m. This pump is designed to push that air deep, as well, and is perfect for big tanks, and huge bubble wands and discs. BREX

Why does the 150 put out the same amount of air as the whisper 60?

Asked by: Ryan22
Thank you for your interest in these Tetra products! It doesn't. The Whisper 60 puts out 2.6 l/m with both ports teed, and the Whisper 150 puts out 2.5 l/m with only one port. The big difference is the amount of pressure. The Whisper 150 is built to put the air down deeper and is great for huge bubble wands, and tanks up to 8 feet deep. The Whisper 60 does not have the pressure, it is good for undergravel filters, small air stones, and air ornaments, not the big bubble wands or huge tanks. BREX

Hi, I am building my first fish tank and would like to buy the air pump. Can you please advise if this pump is good for 33 gallon tank Thanks Rufis Samadzade

Asked by: Rufis Samadzade
Thank you for your interest in our products Rufis! No, this pump would be a bit too powerful for your size tank, unless you are operating a bubble wand the length of the tank. BREX
