It depends on a lot of factors, as the pump armature swings through a larger or smaller arc based on back pressure (depends on model of pump used, depth of air outlet, restriction of airline and ornaments/air stone, and some other variables, call them all “back pressure”). This armature swing influences the noise the pump makes as well as the overall vibration. When used properly, the decibel rating (dBA) is in the upper 30’s, but depends again on the overall strength of the pump (which model is being used) and the back pressure factors mentioned before. Using a flow control, you can change the back pressure, and thus the noise. Upper 30’s is remarkably quiet. Therefore, we do not give out an exact ranger per air pump because there are too many varying factors, however, if installed properly, the rating should be in the upper 30's.
