Minimal noise, maximum air flow. The Whisper® Air Pump’s dome shape actually flattens sound wave frequencies. In addition, each model features sound-dampening chambers designed specifically for that model. And the air pump's rubber feet and suspended motor prevent sound waves from reflecting off surfaces such as tables and shelves.

Available in models for aquariums from 10 to 100 gallons, Whisper Air Pumps provide a powerful flow of air. UL listed.

Air Flow
Whisper 10 0.5 L/min
Whisper 20 1 L/min
Whisper 40 1.3 L/min
Whisper 60 2.6 L/min ("T"-ed)
Whisper 100 3.3 L/min ("T"-ed)

Tetra Whisper Air Pumps Help Keep Your Tank Quiet
Tetra Whisper Air Pumps keep your aquarium oxygen levels high, helping keep your fish healthy. And with seven different sized pumps, there is sure to be one that is perfect for your aquarium. This line of air pumps has a unique dome shape and rubber feet. This flattens sound wave frequencies and helps prevent them from reflecting off of surfaces such as tables and shelves, allowing your pump to produce minimal noise. Whisper Air Pumps can be used in deep tanks (up to 8 feet deep), and have enough strength to power long decorator air stones, multiple air stones in one or more tanks, and protein skimmers for salt water aquariums. Every Tetra pump also comes with a lifetime limited warranty.

Whisper Pumps Produce a More Oxygenated Aquarium
Tetra’s Whisper pumps will keep both you and your underwater friends happy. The pumps provide oxygen, which is good for your fish and tank, and also provide water movement. Combining these two benefits will lead to better water conditions overall. The underwater bubbles produced by the machine also add a mesmerizing touch enhancing the look of your aquarium. These pumps are the most powerful line that Tetra offers, ensuring that you are getting the best quality pump available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable, quiet, and efficient I have three Whisper pumps and have found them to be reliable, quiet, and efficient. I use one outside in Dallas, Texas that has run constantly for a year and a half through freezing weather and extreme heat without missing a beat. A larger unit on my 55-gallon aquarium still works fine after three years. These are good pumps.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very quiet but disappointing how qickly it broke I bought the 30 -60 gal early last spring and was very happy with the air flow and particularly how quiet it was but after less than a year the air stopped flowing. Turned out the rubbers inside broke. Since I love the pump otherwise I am searching for replacement parts but finding out that's not economical. It may be good if they would provide at least one set of replacement part with the product. I would recommend for the design style and quietness but you may need to replace it earlier that expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works as designed Works as designed...no frills, a reasonably quiet, inexpensive pump with good vibration isolation with the soft rubber feet. I own two of their small units.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from broken tip on 2 pumps I only have whisper pumps on all 7 of my tanks . but the tips have broken on 2 of them where you put the air line , if they fixed that it would be a good pump.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality and reliability Have been through 3 of the 100g air pumps in under a year for a 90g tank 4' long, 18" wide, and 2' deep. Pump sits under aquarium on cork pad on a shelf. Same problem each time - rubber diaphragm tear and failure after several weeks to several months of use. Thankfully only purchased two and pulled remaining good diaphragm from original pump to replace failed diaphragm on 2 week old replacement pump. Now a third diaphragm has failed forcing me to look elsewhere for a quality air pump. Save your money until quality control improves as Tetra does not guarantee the rubber diaphragms - likely due to their high rate of failure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from POJ We bought a whisper air pump (30-60) for our tank. It was very weak and It just didn't push enough air to even start bubbling. Thank goodness we could return it to the store and buy a reliable pump that actually works.

is this a complete with filter and tubing?

Asked by: barebutt1
This is an air pump. It does not filter the water at all, it provides oxygen. You need to buy a check valve, air line tubing and air stone separately, to go with it. BREX

How often should this air pump itself be replaced? I have had mine for 2 year's. I replace the airstone every 3 months. I am using it in a 10 gallon tank that has a nice filtration system.

Asked by: Larissa
Hi Larissa, Air pumps typically last about 5+ years, if properly cared for, but you may need to replace the rubber diaphragms inside them every couple of years. The pump will begin to get noisy and lose air pressure when the rubber parts are beginning to wear out. BREX

I have a Whisper 40 and it was working OK. then 2 years now and it is noisy and the air flow decreased. I happen to accidentally put one leg on the electric cord and it is nt noisy and pumping air as usual ?? do I need a new pump ??

Asked by: Michael X
Most likely your diaphragms are wearing out. These typically need replacing about every one to two years. Repair kits are available. http://www.tetra-fish.com/Products/tetra-aquarium-parts/whisper-air-pump-20-40-repair-kit.aspx. BREX

How do i prime a whisper 6030 pump for fishtank

Asked by: pattyjoe
Um....this is an air pump. It sits outside the tank, you attach air line tubing to it, which then runs from the pump to an air stone or air ornament inside the tank. You may also want to buy a check valve, and depending on the application, a flow valve or gang valve. These are accessories sold where air pumps are sold to prevent water from back siphoning into the air pump and to control how much air you move through the stone or ornament. Gang valves can also allow you to run several items at once. BREX

we have a glo 5g and the 10i filter that came with it is too strong and the next size we got was a 3i and it does not filter very good. please advise

Asked by: janey6049
The 3i would definitely be a little small for a 5 gallon tank. The 10i should not be an issue with the fish, unless they are stressed for some reason, such as water quality or just having been added to the tank. We will reach out directly to ask some questions so we can get a full understanding of what is going on. BREX

Thanks for the quick reply. So a model 60 and a model 30-60, have the same internal parts and the same air output?
