Hi, which food to you recommend for smaller Ciclids?

Asked by: Geochurchi
We have a number of diets for cichlids! Here is a link to all the cichlid diets: http://www.tetra-fish.com/Products/aquarium-fish-food.aspx. It would depend on the size of your fish, but probably one of the pellet diets, the crisps or the Dual Blend would be what we would recommend. Flakes are also easy for small fish to eat. BREX

What is the difference between the tropical crisps and the cichlid crisps? I have mollies german blue rams and discus in my tank as well as plecos

Asked by: Harleighquin
All cichlid diets will be based more in line with a carnivorous, meaty diet, than the tropical crisps which are more in line with omnivores. Considering the species in your tank, you want to feed a variety of foods, probably both the TetraPro Tropical Crisps and the TetraCichlid Crisps, as well as the Tetra Veggie Flakes for the mollies, and Tropical Algae Wafers for the plecos. Can I feed these to tetra fish?

Asked by: Valeri3
Thank you for your question! Yes, this is an excellent diet for most tropical fish, including tetras. The only word of caution I would have is if you have species such as neons, that tend to eat at mid-level. Those prefer a slow sinking granule. They do not like to eat on the surface. BREX

do you make a larger than 7.4 oz size of your pro crisps cichlid

I would like to switch from NLS to feeding my fish your Tetra Pro Crisps my fish love this food but it would be pretty expensive when buying in 7,4 oz vs the 5lb bucket of NLS if you do make a larger bulk size where can I purchase it?
Asked by: Alski
We do make a TetraCichlid Crisps, but it is not the one in your link. That one is for tropical fish. We do not have a cichlid crisp designated Pro. The one we have comes in an 8.82 oz size as the largest container. We used to carry bulk sizes, but quite honestly, they do not sell well. BREX

Are these appropriate for guppies and a male betta?

Asked by: jiminycricket
Technically, the food is for tropical fish, which labels Guppies and Bettas as well. However, the only issue, is that these two breeds typically prefer to have smaller food or something that can be broken up easily, as in a flake or pellet formula. MINI
