Minimal noise, maximum air flow. The Whisper® Air Pump’s dome shape actually flattens sound wave frequencies. In addition, each model features sound-dampening chambers designed specifically for that model. And the air pump's rubber feet and suspended motor prevent sound waves from reflecting off surfaces such as tables and shelves.

Available in models for aquariums from 10 to 100 gallons, Whisper Air Pumps provide a powerful flow of air. UL listed.

Air Flow
Whisper 10 0.5 L/min
Whisper 20 1 L/min
Whisper 40 1.3 L/min
Whisper 60 2.6 L/min ("T"-ed)
Whisper 100 3.3 L/min ("T"-ed)

Tetra Whisper Air Pumps Help Keep Your Tank Quiet
Tetra Whisper Air Pumps keep your aquarium oxygen levels high, helping keep your fish healthy. And with seven different sized pumps, there is sure to be one that is perfect for your aquarium. This line of air pumps has a unique dome shape and rubber feet. This flattens sound wave frequencies and helps prevent them from reflecting off of surfaces such as tables and shelves, allowing your pump to produce minimal noise. Whisper Air Pumps can be used in deep tanks (up to 8 feet deep), and have enough strength to power long decorator air stones, multiple air stones in one or more tanks, and protein skimmers for salt water aquariums. Every Tetra pump also comes with a lifetime limited warranty.

Whisper Pumps Produce a More Oxygenated Aquarium
Tetra’s Whisper pumps will keep both you and your underwater friends happy. The pumps provide oxygen, which is good for your fish and tank, and also provide water movement. Combining these two benefits will lead to better water conditions overall. The underwater bubbles produced by the machine also add a mesmerizing touch enhancing the look of your aquarium. These pumps are the most powerful line that Tetra offers, ensuring that you are getting the best quality pump available.

Whisper® Aquarium Air Pump is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 30.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does well for 2 air products. This air pump doesn't work well with having under gravel filters, and two bubble bars. I have not one but two and I have them daisy chained (connected) and it still is not enough to run the systems at running capacity

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I love my new tetra whisper 20, had tanks in the 70's with very noisy pumps, this is so silent i thought it was working.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sub par performance Garbage. I have a Whisper 40 pump runs but no air. Purchased a diaphram replacement and NOGO. Still, no air. Mechanism moves but no air. Will be getting a DIFFERENT brand to replace. I would avoid this company and product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Tetra is falling off the top I purchased this pump for my 40 gallon to run two air stones. At first, I was very happy as I have used Tetra products for years now without complaints. However, this is a complete let down. It’s been a year and one month and the pump is loud it wakes my son up whenever he takes his nap by our living room (which is where the tank lives). I’m additon to being loud, it doesn’t pump any air out anymore. I had to replace it with another pump two days ago. What a totoal waste of money. The repair kit cost just as much as a new pump. I have older tetra pumps running just fine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very Loud We bought a whisper 10 air pump a week ago, and it worked fine for a couple of days. Now it has a constant annoying hum/vibration. We replaced our first pump because it hummed and thought we needed a new pump. I guess that wasn't the case. We have tried everything to silence the pump. No luck so now we are on the lookout for a pump that is quiet. :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely quiet!! I purchased the whisper aps 300 for my 180 litre tropical aquarium and it is very quiet. I had a Fluvel air pump before and it was very loud in comparison to this

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Brand New And Sucks! I bought this a couple of weeks ago and it doesn't pump air below the surface of the water. I have a ten gallon aquarium and the Whisper 10..... even at the top it has weak bubbles. It is letting out maximum air. I am very angry.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Strange Problem I bought a Whisper 40 16 months ago. I use it for an air stone. Never had a problem. A day ago I heard a gurgling noise. What was all over the floor and the tank was one third down of water. I do have one way valve on it. I checked all tubing found no leaks. Tank didn't leak. I left the pump on and placed it on a table. That is when I heard the gurgling sound. The pump has water in it and I found a crack on the bottom of the pump shell.

How long can I keep my air pump running for? And if its below it, does that matter?

Asked by: AMY1996JOY
Thanks for asking! You can leave the air pump running all day, every day. If it is placed below the tank you will want to install a check valve to prevent a back flow of water. For more help call Tetra at 1-800-526-0650 or email PetSupport@spectrumbrands.com. We are happy to help!

Where can I find replacement filters for the whisper 10 air pump?

Asked by: La1700313
They are only found in the complete repair kit. We recommend purchasing a piece of felt, and cutting it to fit typically as this is the easiest, least expensive way to replace it. BREX

You receive the pump, a tee connector and a flow valve. You will need to buy your airline tubing and an air stone or ornament, plus a check valve. BREX

Can i use my new whisper 20 for 2 air stones? If so, how can i convert it?

Asked by: ElenaElena
If they are small air stones, less than 4" for example, yes, it should power them. You run about 8" of tubing to a check valve, then the rest of the tubing to a two way gang valve which is clipped on the top back frame of the tank. How much tubing depends on where the air pump is sitting in relation to the tank. The closer the better, and above the tank is ideal, but the check valve allows you to place it under or beside the tank as well. The gang valve has a main port the tubing connects to, and two valves. Attach tubing to each valve and run each one to a stone. Adjust the valves as needed for the amount of air you want each stone to receive. The further from the valve, the stone is, the more air pressure it will need. The larger the stone, the more air pressure it will need as well. Hope this helps. BREX

Its the 40 wisper good for a 29gallons

Asked by: Mrpingu
It should be perfect for it, but that totally depends on what you want to operate with it. It would be ideal for small air stones of 1" to around 6". Larger bubble wands may need a larger air pump. It would also work well with undergravel filter systems or small sponge filters. It would also be capable of operating two small air stones or air ornaments. BREX
