Tetra's HT line of heaters are easy-to-use and work in aquariums ranging from 2 to 55 gallons. The heaters have electronic thermostats that automatically adjust heat output to keep water at a constant 78 degrees F. All HT heaters have indicator lights to let you know when the heater is on, heating the aquarium.

All Tetra HT heaters have red/green indicator lights to let you know when the heater is heating(red) or on standby(green). The low voltage thermostat maintains water at 78°F without any adjustment required. Be sure purchase the correct heater for your tank size. Buying a heater too small for your tank can cause under heating. It is critical to ensure your tank is equipped with a hood or glass canopy to contain the heat inside the aquarium. All Tetra HT Heaters will shut off if an electrical short is detected for your safety.

This product comes in the following sizes:
HT10 (50 watt) - 2-10 gal
HT30 (100 watt) - 10-30 gal
HT40 (150 watt) - 30-40 gal
HT55 (200 watt) - 40-55 gal
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works When I first got it, I put it vertical and it didn't hear the tank. Moved it horizontally and heated the tank to 74f. My Betta then some how got stuck behind it and cooked itself. So today I put it inside my aqua tech 20-40 propeller chamber and it currently has the water at a temperature of 76-77f. Honestly I would recommend it because it has a good warranty and it cheap. I think this heater may have a design flaw. When it was in the aquarium it would turn off and on constantly but in the filter, it on for a long time until water temperature achieved. It thermostat might be too close to the heating unit that the freshly heated water is tripping the thermostat to turn off too soon

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't heat I just turned this on last night in my son's 3 gallon aquarium. I used warmed water initially and thermometer read 78. This morning I checked and the thermometer read 72. The heater light was green and not red, thus not heating. I then compared the thermometer to a submersible probe and they were within a degree of each other. I even put the probe near the heater, and the temperature was no different. I called the Customer Service number on the box, and they were of no help, talking about the ambient temperature mixing with the water and changing the thermometer's reading. And I had to explain I was also testing with a probe. Will be seeking another brand, and returning this, as it clearly does not do what it is advertised to do.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mmm... I bought this as an emergency for my fish that has swim bladder disorder. I needed a quick heater that heats the tank up to a fair degree. It gets to 78 degrees.. i just don’t understand why someone would buy a heater that only heats 6 degrees above room temperature. I just quickly grabbed it off the shelf for my fish but i didn’t expect it to only heat 6 degrees above room temperature. I guess it’s fine but it doesn’t heat even a five gallon tank. only about one gallons so i had to stick my fish in a one gallon.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from lost cause well i was going to make a warranty claim but after seeing all the bad reviews i think i will take my losses and look elsewhere for a new heater. sorry tetra but when a product has this many reviews of being faulty it may be time to go back to the drawing board.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality I saw some bad reviews on this product and I should have listened not to buy it. It worked well on my 3 gallon tank and it says on the package that it’s for 2-10gallons but I got a 10 gallon tank and it has failed to keep the temp at 78 like it says. I wish I could get a refund

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fine, Don't listen to other reviews The heater does what it's supposed too. I don't understand the negative reviews, probably from people that know nothing about aquariums. I recommend this heater 100%.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolutely terrible Got home and the light came on for a second and then immediately turned off. Water reads my house room temp of 70 which it was at before i got the heater. No light ever comes on and never feels warm

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I’m confused I’ve had this thermometer in my tank for 3 hours and it hasn’t changed the water temperature. The red light shuts off after 1 minute of being plugged in. I will purchase another one to see if this problem persists. I have a thermometer in my tank and it reads at a constant 50 degrees Fahrenheit. No green light is on.
