Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked perfectly 2 year old, small outdoor pond, about 75 gallon. Went from very cloudy to crystal clear in a week. Koi are zooming around having a ball now that they can see! I hadn't even known there were black ones in there...1 month so far, all is well. Will be dropping next pellet in tomorrow. Their behavior has been very consistent for the 2 years. Hope nothing bad happens. so sorry the other reviewer had a disaster, I wonder what the difference was?

Are there any water temperature restrictions when using this product?

Asked by: Maymay
It is a warm weather product basically. It won't harm anything but won't have any effect in cooler temperatures so do not use it in water that is less than 60 degrees Fahrenheit. BREX

Will I have to turn off my filter with ultra violet light when I first add the tetra sludge clearer?

Asked by: Lesley5
No, not at all. I like to sprinkle it over the water though, and then take a hose and spray the surface to push it downward. Assuming you are using the powder form.... BREX

Is this safe for my dogs if they drink from the pond?

Asked by: KweeniandJoey
This is an enzymatic product, and it slowly dissolves over a period of a month, so yes, as long as they don't get it and eat the entire thing, it's fine. Keep in mind, pond water can harbor various bacteria and protozoa that can affect your dogs, however. BREX

My pond was cleaned thoroughly and a month later I cant see the fish . It is in the sun i have plants in there . Started with pond block 4 with my 1000 gal. A week later for sludge remover blocks and I do have barley pellets at the waterfall. No impovemen

Asked by: LouiseAW
Cleaning the pond completely means removing all of the biological filter and it has to re-establish one. Also, Pond Block should not be used with live plants so the plants probably are not doing much at this point. Test your water quality to see what is off, and add a bacterial supplement/treatment. You don't mention any equipment such as filters or UV lights, etc. You may need to add some of these to help clear the pond. BREX

Product says one block for each 250 gallons of water, since I have small pond and around 80-100 gallons of water do I use half a block. Thanks

You would use about 1/4-1/3 if you can cut it into that size. Always better to under dose something like this, then over dose. BREX

Can you use this product in a pond with fish and with existing algae?

Asked by: Lise
Yes, that's fine. It helps to break down sludge, it does not help remove algae. BREX
