Water Garden Pump is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Loved mine the first few months - now not so much Purchased this sept 2017 and loved it for my waterfall . Powerful and quiet . Now less then a year later it makes a loud Hum when running that is easily heard from 20 feet way . There are no obstructions and nothing wrong with the impeller . Very disappointed for what I paid !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor design I have a nice looking umbrella type flow on 20% of the fountain head and 2 small streams on the other 80%, very unimpressive. Turn it down it closes it off, looser it gives a 33% umbrella 2 inches from head. small rock wired to the filter helped keep it from floating and tipping over the pump/fountain. Only 1 height adjustment piece so I had a choice of at surface level or 8 inches above.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, but short electrical cord Purchased the 550 pump for my pond to replace an older 500 pump.Like the new model except for the shorter electrical cord of 12 ft. vs old model 16 ft.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from really good pump I purchased this pump sometime back and have used it in out of the ordinary ways. I originally bought to operate on a small koi pond and it performed well. Since had went to a much larger pond, so this pump was put asdie. It has since been used to pump out my vortex filters, drain my lotus pond when needed, as well as pump dirty water from in ground holes. This little pump finally broke some cover pieces and I currently need it. I emailed to purchase parts and found I can not do so, but can be sent to me under warranty. They never questioned me on purchase date(which I am quite sure was outside the warranty period) , but opted to send me the parts. I will now put this pump back into action and see how much more it will work. I only wish they would sell parts as I know in the future I will need more. I think this pump will last a long time. 4&1/2 stars. It could be a little more energy efficient.

Need replacement impeller for the 1900 model. Which one do I order?

Asked by: Shelly74
We do not have that one on our website, currently, but you can purchase it through www.123ponds.com and possibly www.pondparts.com. BREX

My WPG 1000 runs for about a minute and then shuts off for about 5 minutes. It’s about 2 yrs old. I can’t find any obstructions. Thanks.

If the impeller is clean, and the inside of the motor is also clean, there are no hard water deposits, either, then it may be a thermal issue. If the water is really warm, try changing some of it to cool it off (if you are experiencing a heat wave, for example). Otherwise, it has a thermal switch issue and you should call 1-800-526-0650 as the unit is under warranty for 3 years. BREX

I have a 325 and it randomly starts and stops. I have cleaned it out, but it continues to do the same thing. It will run for a half hour stop for 15 minutes and start up again without me touching it. Can you tell me what is broken?

Asked by: SteveC
If you took the impeller out, and cleaned it and inside the pump, and the impeller and shaft seemed fine, then it sounds like it is over heating, and has a thermal issue. Call 1-800-526-0650 for more help. BREX

How do you adjust the water flow

Asked by: Hathy
These submersible pumps do not come with a flow control. Typically, you insert a ball valve to reduce the flow rate a foot or so from the filter, etc. BREX

I bought the 550 pump through amazon on May 10 the propeller has already broken and I also bought the Tetra Pond Cylinder Prefilter for Water Garden Pumps so I know nothing was getting in the pump. What is the replacement part for that.

My pump is less than 2 months old and it totally quit working. It has a 3 year guarantee. What do I need to do now?

Asked by: Lezro
The first thing to do is take the prefilter cage off and remove the impeller cover, so you can take out the impeller and clean it. Clean the inside of the pump too, after removing the impeller. If this doesn't get it up and running, then call our Care Team at 1-800-526-0650. BREX

I have 1900 gph pump with 40feet tubing and 4 feet high water fall with uv filter. I have 1" tubing. I install everything today. Water flow looks really low. Any recommendations?

Asked by: Krish85
Do you need 40 feet of tubing? I am assuming no. Cut off any tubing you don't need to avoid restriction of flow. Also, the 1900 is intended to be used with 1.25" ID tubing, not 1". The 1" is restricting your flow too. BREX

I have the 1000gph and need to buy a filter to attach I am unsure of which to buy and how to attach... please help.

Asked by: Desiree14067
Well, that totally depends on what you want the filter to do. Do you want a prefilter to keep the pump from clogging? If so, then you want one of these: http://www.tetra-fish.com/pond/products/filtration/water--garden-garden-pump-pre-filter.aspx or http://www.tetra-fish.com/pond/products/filtration/submersible-flat-box-filter.aspx. They come with a short piece of tubing so if you wanted longer tubing, you'd need to buy that by the foot, and you would need hose clamps. The larger box filter will filter small ponds up to almost 500 gallons. If you want to filter the pond, and have a waterfall, there's this one: http://www.tetra-fish.com/pond/products/filtration/waterfall-filter.aspx. You'll need several feet of tubing to go from the pump to the falls, usually the pump is at the far end of the pond, and hose clamps. If you simply want to have the most filtration possible, then there's: http://www.tetra-fish.com/pond/products/filtration/clearchoice-biofilter.aspx. You pump isn't large enough to handle a pressure filter, but this filter is an excellent biological one, and one of my favorites. Again, you need tubing to run from the pump to the filter inlet, and hose clamps. This is a gravity filter so it must sit in such a way as to let water travel back down the outlet tubing to the pond. Let me know if you have any other questions! BREX
