Rated 4 out of 5 by from great for job only thing i think would improve this great piece of kit is if the basket was deeper or had some side as i find that when i lift it out alot of the debis floats off the basket and into the main body of the unit which i then have to clean out by hand defeating the object of the basket but still a great piece of equipmentthat has improved my pond no end cheers

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's also a FLOATING skimmer . . . . with slight modification Our 1,000-gallon pond is a water feature with waterfall ONLY. We want neither plant nor animal life within --- just the clearest water possible. I attached one 14" length of 2-3/8" diameter closed cell foam ("pool noodle") to the left side of the skimmer basket and one 14-inch length to the right side of the skimmer basket with plastic zip-ties(tie-wraps) through 1/4" holes which I drilled into each corner pocket. I then added pea gravel ballast to each of the four corner pockets to adjust the skimmer buoyancy in order to maintain the pond water surface at 1" below the skimmer weir opening, per the "In-Pond Skimmer PS1000A Mfg #26562 INSTRUCTIONS". I also drilled a new hole for the pump suction barb adapter at the bottom center of the skimmer to help maintain an even keel as it floats. Fluctuating water levels are no longer a problem.
