That depends on the size of the bog, and the distance between the pump and the bog, but most likely no. I have a 3000 gallon pond and at one point had a large bog, about 3 feet by 5 feet, and a foot deep. I used this pump to operate it, and it worked perfectly. The bog was very healthy and full of live plants. The pond was amazingly clear. If you do find the flow is a bit too strong, you can insert a PVC Y between the pump and the bog, and split the flow off. I doubt you will need to do this, however. I think the bog will be fine, and your waterfall even more impressive.
