One is a statuary pump, and is specifically for statues, small containers, etc. The SP 330 has a flow control on it, the WGP pumps do not. Basically, you need to decide how wide you wish the waterfall to be. The width is called the "weir". If you want one that is about 6" wide, for example, you will need a pump that can move 600 gph at the top of the waterfall. At best, the 330 will make one around 3" in width, even with larger diameter tubing. It sounds like you want a more substantial falls. The WGP 1000 would give you one of around 10" in width. It sounds like a huge pump, and it is pretty good size, but you can always put in a ball valve and restrict flow, you cannot increase flow.
