Clear, plastic tank provides a beautiful view of your underwater environment and is virtually unbreakable. Air powered Whisper® three-stage filtration with small Bio-Bag® cartridges keep your aquarium crystal clear and odor-free. Low voltage LED lighting insures a bright aquarium and enhances safety. This aquarium is appropriate for keeping one Betta or up to two community tropical fish (We don’t recommend goldfish in any kit smaller than three gallons due to waste levels.)

This product comes in the following sizes: 1.5 gal
Aquariums are fun, relaxing, rewarding, therapeutic and educational. As manufacturers and fishkeepers ourselves, we take great pride in making top quality products while helping educate our fellow fishkeepers to ensure they are successful, and their fish are healthy and happy. The general rule for tank size is one inch of fish per gallon. However other factors should be considered, such as:
  • How large will the fish be as an adult?
  • Is it species that is active and needs larger space? Or is it a solitary fish?
  • Is it a schooling fish that needs to be in groups of five or more?
  • Is it a fish that produces a lot of waste?
  • Is it a species that is aggressive, does best with others of the same species type, or is it a more peaceful type that would be a good fit in a community tank?
Small aquariums are a great way to get started in the freshwater hobby, and with any new hobby involving living creatures, it is always best to learn as much as you can. And when buying fish, ask your retailer for guidance in choosing the right fish for your size aquarium.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I lalalove this little aquarium! and so does my beta and little plecostimus (spelling?) I wanted to reply to Shrimpy...His comment answered my question...the filter pump quit working...gravel got in it and was so LOUD!...I managed to get the gravel out once the assembly dried out...but now it doesn't work :(...because it is attached to the light, I was wondering if i could cut the wire and tape it up....is there another trick to actually get it working again? Thanks!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! So far I love it. Fish goes in tonght so we will see how he likes it. I am buying another one to replace this National Geographic tank. I had to file a warranty claim on my other one and Tetra customer service is awesome. I will never buy another non-Tetra item again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Filter stopped working after a year The light and filter are wired together. I fixed this by cutting the wire to the filter and putting electrical tape over it since it's outside of the tank. The light still works fine, 2 years later. I added a sponge filter and an air pump. I had it stocked with about 10 cherry shrimp which got moved to a larger tank. Currently my betta lives in the tank and it's planted with java moss, anubias, and a small crypt still. I have a small CFL light above with a desk lamp fixture to supplement the LED's. This is a great tank that's easy to take care of and display without taking up much room and is also very affordable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy fish! I love this tank and so does my fish! Very pretty, especially with the lighting. My pump stopped working, however. But the wqrranty people are awesome and are sending me a new one!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Filter hardwired to light, bad combo! I bought this because it had a filter AND a light...except the filter motor is very hard to clean properly, so if your fish gets sick don't expect to be able to use it ever again. And it it's not in the tank, you can't plug it in because it needs to be in water. And if you can't plug it in, the light is useless. I wouldn't recommend this tank, and neither would my fish!
