Aquariums are fun, relaxing, rewarding, therapeutic and educational. As manufacturers and fishkeepers ourselves, we take great pride in making top quality products while helping educate our fellow fishkeepers to ensure they are successful, and their fish are healthy and happy. The general rule for tank size is one inch of fish per gallon. However other factors should be considered, such as:
  • How large will the fish be as an adult?
  • Is it species that is active and needs larger space? Or is it a solitary fish?
  • Is it a schooling fish that needs to be in groups of five or more?
  • Is it a fish that produces a lot of waste?
  • Is it a species that is aggressive, does best with others of the same species type, or is it a more peaceful type that would be a good fit in a community tank?
Small aquariums are a great way to get started in the freshwater hobby, and with any new hobby involving living creatures, it is always best to learn as much as you can. And when buying fish, ask your retailer for guidance in choosing the right fish for your size aquarium.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tank for the price Has been a reliable little tank for a couple years. Its housed a handful of beloved fish for my kids. However, when we moved we lost the light :( Ive scoured the internet looking for one. Ebay was a bust, so was amazon and it isnt listed on your website :(

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No directions, no tubing I bought this to surprise my grandson. I get it out to set it up. No instructions, and no tubing. I would love to set it up but wow after reading the reviews I'm not sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from elegant, simple and functional I was very concerned about many of the reviews with low scores. People complained that the plastic would break, or the top was flimsy, or that the filter pump would such the fish up. I believe I have the latest design of this tank with the 115 V electrical cord that runs directly into the the water with the filter. The "instructions" that came with the tank were about safety and trouble shooting and did not have any instructions on how to assembly the filter unit, but you have to attached the wired motor to the bottom of the filter (tightly) and immerse in the water. Also no instructions on which way to put in the filter, but I looked at photos on the box. I was worried about this as the cord is not grounded, and there is no requirement to use a GFI plug, but it works! It has a high flow rate but makes no noise what-so-ever and does not suck up my two 1.5 inch long fin tetra glofish even though one likes to hang around directly under the intake. If you don't like seeing the filter unit you can put fake plants around it. The plastic tank is sturdy enough to hold the gravel and water, and I did move it by hand when full, and it did not break or crack, but it would be more prudent to fill it fully where you intend to keep it. The top is very sturdy. The blue LED light only shined directly down from the center top of the tank, so the fish don't really glow unless they are directly under it. In all, a very sturdy, elegant tank, and worth the money. I don't understand the negative comments unless they are for an earlier model which was not as robust. I do worry, however, about the instructions to pry open the filter motor, if it starts making noise to clean it. I hope that it won't crack and let water leak into the motor housing and become an electrical hazard.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No instructions Frustrated that I bought the 1.5 g tank and no instructions on how to actually set up the tank. Frustrated that I’ve opened it, no idea how to assemble it and can’t return it because it’s been opened.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GloFish Tank I love the tank for my Betta. The LED lights on are not all working. One of the rows does not work and I just got the tank. Where can I get a replacement?
