Light burned out after only a couple years. Thought LED"s last forever?
We appreciate your inquiry. LED bulbs can last a number of years, although not forever. However, if all of the bulbs are out, that would indicate the issue is the transformer or adaptor, and not the LEDs. If it is plugged directly into an outlet, and not a power strip with surge protection, it could have suffered a voltage surge, and burned out. If only one or two bulbs are out, then that would indicate the bulbs are indeed, done. In this case, sometimes water splashing up causes an issue, or the bulb itself simply went out.

Is GloFish® Universal LED Light an actinic light? Is it good for corals also? What are its parameters - how many Kelvin degrees (15000 or 25000 or more)?
The answer to all of your questions is no. It is just a blue light to bring out the colors on the glofish. We do not have a Kelvin rating on it, since it would not provide enough light for plants or corals. Our other brand, Marineland, has a Hidden LED light stick which is great for both plants and corals. 6,500 Kelvin and 460 nm. It makes a good supplemental light.

Where could I get LED lighting for a 5 gallon tank?
Most pet stores and fish stores carry such lighting. Additionally, there are a lot of online vendors that carry various types of our LED lighting. Since you are in Canada, your best bet would be Big Al's stores or www.bigals.com. Additionally, Petsmart marry carry them.

I need to purchase the GloFish® Universal LED Light replacement cord . I lost the electrical cord in a recent move
Unfortunately, the power cord is not available separately. You would actually need to replace the entire light. However, the power cord is a 2 prong, switching adaptor with an output of 12V, 200 mA. Maybe you can find one that works. I would recommend trying Radio Shack, etc.

What are the fixture dimentions of the 36-5174776 ???
I have a MARINELAND® Half-Moon Desktop Aquarium, 10 gal, 21.5" wide. It came with an 8-LED white light fixture. I want to use this tank for GloFish, but cannot find a suitable blue LED fixture. The blue GloFish light sticks will not work because there are no front corners on a half-moon tank to hide the LEDs from sight. Would this fixture fit on top of my clear cover? Also, my green danios are UV reactive; is there such a thing as a UV (not a marine sterilizer) fixture that would fit this small tank? I have used long UV fluorescent fixtures for my marine tanks (coral), but have never seen one small enough for my GloFish tank. I have considered nail-salon UV polish-curing lamps (they all have timers) and glue-curing UV LED fixtures for cell phone repairs. I could use a mini-fluorescent fixture (kitchen cabinet fixture) with a UV light bulb, but these produce too much heat. Ideally, I'd love to find a Blue & UV combo fixture. Any suggestions?
First, yes, this fixture will fit. The only difference between it and the one you have are the LED bulbs. Second, Glofish are not UV reactive, I'm not sure where you got that information. They have a special protein in their muscles that cause their coloration. They fluoresce under certain blue and black lighting. For more information on them, see www.glofish.com. I know of no UV type light for glofish. We are the only company that I am aware of with a partnership with the Glofish company. To truly show off your fish, I would just recommend using one of our Glofish LED fixtures. However, we do have blue/white LED fixtures that also highlight them well.

where can I purchase a replacement light for my 5 gallon glo fish tank??My local walmart does not carry one.
We have a couple of different 5 gallon kits for glofish, so it kind of depends. If you have a light strand that snaps in under the hood, contact us directly. If you have a light stick, those are sold through Wal-Mart and Pet Specialty stores, as well as online.

glofish universal led light, color blue
i have a glofish 5 gallon tank, and i am interested in the glofish universal led light in blue. It says it is attached by a clamp and will fit glass aquariums with rim. Can you show me how it would fit over the rim and attach to it and the glass?
Do you have a diagram or picture to show me?
I do not have a picture detailing this, unfortunately, but it basically has a clamp that slides over the frame, and there are two screws you tighten. It's very simple.

Is this offered in a mix of blue & white lights?
I want to soften the bright white LED lights, but I don't want to go full blue lights either.
No, at this time it comes either with all white lights or all blue lights.
You might try adding one of the stick lights in blue.
