I'm finding that even with the two suction cups, my filter slowly slides down the wall of the tank. Any suggestions?
I have the same problem, where the hook raises the filter too high above the water, but the suction cups don't seem strong enough to keep it high enough above the bottom of the tank either. (My turtle likes to try to climb on it too, which doesn't help!)
The hook is quite adjustable and the better method to use with turtles. It can lower the filter so the top is about 2" below the frame of the tank. Your water level may not be as deep as what the turtle needs, so you may want to raise that instead.
Try cleaning the suction cups well with distilled white vinegar, mixed with hot water. Rinse well with hot water, let dry, and then rub some silicon lubricant into them to make them more flexible. This may help them to stick better. If you find you need new ones, just call or email us directly.

Is there an internal hanger for the 40i that allows the unit to sit lower in the tank?
I have the 40i for my 40 gallon tank that houses a turtle. The water level is about 6 inches from the top of the tank. The cascade from the unit is really loud. I would like the lower the unit further into the tank, but it's at it's lowest setting with the hanger that was provided.
No, we only have the one style hanger. You can use 2 suction cups instead, if you wish for it to be lower. I tend to place my water level pretty high for my turtles, as most species of turtles love to swim.
