Removes unsightly algae fast from your aquarium! Algae Control™ not only combats aquarium algae, it also works to keep it from returning. Algae Control is highly effective against green water (algal blooms), bluegreen algae, diatoms or “brown algae,” hair algae or blanketweed that grow on the glass and décor. Unlike some other products on the market, Tetra Algae Control can be safely used in planted aquariums. Tetra’s precision dropper tops help consumers administer the proper dose to their aquarium. One drop treats one gallon.

This product comes in the following sizes: 1.69 fl oz and 3.38 fl oz
It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product
in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Before applying, first remove as much algae as possible by cleaning the glass and décor. This allows Tetra® AlgaeControl™ to be its most effective at reducing the remaining algae and inhibiting new algae growth. Remove activated carbon filters for 6-8 hours after dosing. Be prepared to clean out additional algae as it is killed to prevent deterioration of water quality.
Add 1ml of Tetra® AlgaeControl™ for every 12 gallons (45L) of aquarium water. DO NOT OVERDOSE. Adding Tetra® AlgaeControl™ in areas of high water agitation or by pre-diluting Tetra® AlgaeControl™ in a cup of aquarium water will help to distribute the active ingredient. Ensure the aquarium is well aerated.
Repeat if needed every three days for up to three total doses, then clean the aquarium of dead algae, and do a partial water change. For regular maintenance, use as algae starts to reappear.
ATTENTION: Do not use in newly established aquariums less than three months old. Do not use in aquariums with invertebrates or crustaceans e.g. crabs, shrimps, or crayfish.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product! Had a bad brown algae problem in my 20 gallon tank. Bought this product and was very careful with the dosage because the instructions clearly said "Do not overdose." My 8 year old and 2 year old goldfish were completely unaffected by the product, but now have a crystal clear tank. The people who killed their fish probably overdosed the tank. Excellent product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ATTN!! This product clears water immediately. My tank developed serious water cloudiness after a routine gravel vacuuming that I had done a million times before without triggering an algae bloom. As the bloom worsened, I tried less light, more/less water changes, new filters and a handful of products claiming to address blooms. For me, nothing made even a slight difference. One day I tried a small bottle of Tetra AlgaeControl hiding on the store shelf. A long story short, within minutes my tank literally went from a green cloud where I couldn’t see through to the back of the tank, to a perfectly clear environment. Magic in a bottle. I’m posting a review because the internet is filled with suggestions that didn’t work for me and I tried them all. I’m hoping to help others with a viable answer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It really works. Strongly recomend it. My aquarium was really much effected by algae. I cleaned aquarium and reduced the light to restrict algae grows but it didn't help much at all. I bought "AlgaeControl" to see whether it will work or not to handle with algae. I was so happy to see very visible effect after even first shot. I added it as described on the bottle three times and have no any problems with algae anymore. Thanks to Tetra "AlgaeContrlo".

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fish must be tough I read reviews for first time yeterday after looking for dosage online. I have to admitt I have been using product for a year before checking dosage. I have been over doseing big time. Just to control algae on glass. I have had my goldfish for 7 years now they are beautiful. I guess from reading other reviews my goldfish must be tough as nails. Because tetra has no effect on them at all. It does a great job keeping my tank looking great. But also my tap water has clorine in it and that doesn't bother them either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very helpful product I have used this product for a long time with no adverse effect in my aquarium. However, I have not been removing the activated charcoal and now just wondered about that. My question was answered and now I will remove it for a few hours to improve the results of the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's an amazing product. All right everyone say hello to my little friend. :-) please allow me to start by saying I am not a fan of using chemicals at all. Heck even my garden is 100% organic I raise my own chickens and hunt a lot of my own food. However sometimes even poison can be a good thing if used wisely and carefully. For quite some time now I have battled Green Spot algae to no avail because even in healthy tanks with bright lighting you're going to get green spot algae on leaves no matter how healthy your plants may be. But for me the real problem started about a month ago when I had a lot going on and so did my wife. We had a brief failure to communicate and she thought I was forgetting to feed my fish LOL. I am not saying anything is her fault at all. But the fish ended up being fed double time everyday for about a week meaning that I was feeding them their usual amount which is slightly too much and my wife was feeding them her usual amount which is a very caring healthy motherly dose of too much. And boom that was a recipe for disaster. In no time I had pea soup for water even though my aquarium is heavily planted and I have a filter big enough for a tank twice its size and a powerful water polisher there was nothing I could do to remedy the green water algae. I was even doing three 75 percent water changes a week to no avail. Then I started seeing hair algae Black Beard algae the Green Spot algae got out of control and the brown algae went crazy. It got so bad that I was to the point of nearly hanging up my hat. I did a lot of research and refused the idea of chemicals. Then the other night I did what I should I have done in the beginning I listened to my wife. We were in Walmart and she pointed this stuff out to me. The main reason I was so scared to use this chemical was the fact that algae is in fact a plant at its lowest form. So it made no sense to me how a chemical could kill one plant while sparing another. I took the chance and still skeptical I dosed my aquarium with half the recommended amount. I then took my seat in front of the Aquarium and watched the white filter pad on my water polisher turn hunter green within 5 minutes. I took the filter out gave it a good wash replaced it and sat back down to see my aquarium turn crystal clear Within 30 minutes. Now completely astonished I approached my wife saying well honey you were right and of course I got the mmm hmmm I told you so bit. LOL then I gave her a big kiss saying well I'm very glad you did. I have held back on Advertising for this product until today because I wanted to make sure none of my plants or fish were affected. And as I had hoped nothing went wrong at all. That is at least with my 20 gallon tank. In my betta tank it caused an ammonia Spike. I believe this is because I used the full recommended dose and the betta tank is very small. It says on the instructions on the bottle and on the website that this should not be used in newly set-up tanks. This is because not only does it kill algae but it can harm the beneficial bacteria in the filter system. So really I should say use it at your own risk and be sure that you do not have any snails or crustaceans including invertebrates in your aquarium. Because it says on their site it will kill them deader than a doornail. with the first dose. I also wouldn't recommend using it at full strength seeing as a half of a dose was like a tactical Warhead for my problem. But this stuff is no joke it decimated all of the Green Spot algae and destroyed the green water algae and it is taking its time on the black beard but it is melting it away and the brown algae threw in the towel the first day. I apologize for being long-winded but I am quite ecstatic about the results of using this product. So thank you for your time and I wish you all the luck and Fortune you can possibly have. :-)
