LARGE PLEASE Turtle Island
It seems the general public can use the large size how about 2016 release:)
What is the height on the medium size? Full measurements please.
It is 10" long x 8" wide x 6" high
There are no plans currently in progress regarding a larger version.

Any word on the large size?
I have a 75 gallon aquarium that's filled a little over 14 inches (and that's not all the way filled). I saw word that a large might be coming later, but no recent updates. Are there still plans to release this? There's a description for the large on the back of the packaging for medium, but I don't think it's been released.
No, at this time it is not going to be released. I would recommend raising the water depth a bit, and using a piece of plexiglass glued in with aquarium sealant for a basking area.

I need the TetraFauna Floating Turtle Island Basking Platform large
please advise if still available and how I can get one
It is indeed still available although it is not designed for floating. You can actually remove the basking area from the base if you prefer, but that is not its main purpose.
You should be able to buy it wherever reptile products are sold.

my res is 5.5 in wide and 7 in long. is he too big for the turtle island?
No, we've had turtles of that size using it in our lab here. I've had two turtles, each easily 8" in diameter, use it as well.

Does the top snap in place or does it just float in the water?
The top snaps onto the ramp portion, and the entire thing stays on the bottom, does not float. You can remove the top and allow it to float if you wish, however.

do you make a large size turtle island?
No, we sure don't. There are no plans at this time to make one, either.

How can I order the large Turtle Island? If there is a medium, there must be a large size.
I have a 40 gallon tank with two Western Painted turtles. Would a large fit? The medium says it is for baby to juvenile turtles. I looked at it at Petco. It didn't look large enough.
We do not make a large size at this time. The medium works well with turtles up to about 5-6 inches; I've used it myself. Larger than that, one can fit on it pretty well, but two would not fit.

My turtle can not climb onto it any advice?
Well that's a conundrum. Why can it not climb on it? In our labs, everything from hatchlings to 12" turtles have been on them. I have four turtles of my own from 3.5" to 8" that use it readily.
Only tip I can think to offer is adjust the water level and see if that helps. The ramp should be at about a 45 degree angle so it can walk up the ramp and onto the island.
Email me directly if you need more help.

When will the larger size be available?
This is a great design and product but would serve so many tanks and turtles better if it was larger. On the medium box it says there is a larger version but is not available to purchase anywhere, what gives?
At this time, there is not one on the market. I do not have the exact release date; we were waiting to see how this one did in the marketplace first. However, we will have several new, innovative, really cool products coming out this year, probably sometime in the summer time, so keep an eye out for it around then.

What are the dimensions of the basking area? Does the ramp have to be touching the bottom of the tank? Or does it float? I have a 75 gallon tank
How does it attach to the tank?
It is 9.5" x 8". The ramp is removable; it connects permanently to a base, but is removable from the basking area. You can float the basking area, and leave the ramp/base out of the tank. If you use the entire product, it just sits whereever you put it. It doesn't attach to anything. I use it for two turtles and they both bask on it together. One is 4" in diameter, the other is at least 6" in diameter.

When will the large version be released?
This is an excellent dream product. It is beautiful in construction and I will purchase the large the day it is released. I have a 75 gallon tank with approximately 12 inches of water for my turtles.
I am not sure at this time. Thank you for your lovely comments though. I use a medium one with my two turtles as well. They are both able to bask at the same time, but one is only 3.5", the other is just at 6" right now.
Keep watching, we have several really innovative turtle/reptile products coming in 2015.

Will this fit in a 25 gallon tank with a Viquarium in it?
I'm not sure my turtle will want to bask in the land area of the Viquarium, if I add this will it be too much for my 25 gallon tank?
This plus the viquarium would be too much. You would need one or the other. The turtle will bask on whatever you provide as long as the tank is set up up properly for it. Water temp should be 68-72 degrees. Basking air temperature should be right around 90 degrees. For more turtle information, please visit www.turtlerescues.com.

My 6" Eastern Painted is used to a swimming depth of about 10" in his tank now. Will this device allow about the same depth of recreational swimming f
I am using one in my turtle tank. It allows a maximum of 9". I have placed a flat rock underneath it to get the extra depth I want to 12".

What is the measurement of the basking platform?
My turtle is 7 1/2 inches...will it be large enough for her?
It is 8" by 9.5". It was able to hold turtles up to 10" in our labs, and did not sink under their weight. We will have a larger size coming out eventually.
