To Condition Water and Reduce Stress in Fish: Use one level tablespoon for each 10 gallons of aquarium water. For goldfish bowls, add ¼ tsp for each gallon.
To Introduce New Fish: Use with Tetra® water care products at the rate of one 1 Tbsp for each 5 gallons of aquarium water.
To Buffer Nitrite: Acts as a natural buffer against harmful nitrite levels, especially in new aquariums. Follow the instructions above for water conditioning.
To Safely Clean Aquariums and Accessories: Dissolve 6 Tbsp in 1 qt of water and use as a soak or rinse. Stubborn spots can be removed from glass aquariums by rubbing the area with a moistened algae-removing aquarium cleaning pad sprinkled with Tetra Aquarium Salt. Rinse with fresh water after use.
To Hatch Brine Shrimp Eggs: Use the recommended amount of Tetra Aquarium Salt as instructed on the eggs packaging.
To Recharge Aquarium Water Softener- Units: Follow the instructions for your water softener unit.
- Species Sensitivity: Some species, like catfish and tetras, are sensitive to salt. Consult an expert before use.
- Dissolve Fully: Ensure salt is fully dissolved before introducing it to your tank.
- Live Plants: Be cautious when using salt with live plants, as some may be.
